The project includes 4 habitat gardens and additional acreage of pollinator habitat. 1 acre the first year with 2 more acres planned the second year.

The pollinator gardens will be created in a central location in the Heritage Green Passive Park. The Heritage Green Passive Park is on the site of a closed landfill. The property is owned by Terrapure and maintained by the City of Hamilton. The 28-hectare park was funded by Terrapure and the Heritage Green Community Trust (which is funded by Terrapure) and features pathways and the city’s biggest leash-free dog area.
